How it works

One company, no subcontractors, no franchises

Plenty of cleaning companies list a hundred towns and send whoever is nearest. We do not do that. Herts Pressure Washing is a family-owned business and has been working out of Harpenden since 2008, which is why our working radius is about 20 miles rather than the whole of the South East.

Inside our patch the price is the same wherever you are. Jobs are priced on the work itself, not on how far the van has come, so there is no travel surcharge for being at the edge of it. What changes with distance is scheduling, not cost.

Harpenden

Our home town. The business has been trading here since 2008 and Harpenden Town Council is one of the seven bodies that list us as an approved contractor.

Our busiest patch after Harpenden. We cover both residential and commercial property, and are proud to be an approved contractor for St Albans City and District Council, as well as six other councils and organisations.

The far side of the county from our base, covered on the same terms as everywhere else, with Hertfordshire County Council approval behind the work. Commercial pressure washing makes up the bulk of our work in Watford.

Minutes from our yard, which is why our office number is an 01582 one. Luton Borough Council lists us as an approved contractor and the town centre is one of our regular commercial jobs.

Seven councils and organisations, across the patch

Local authority approvals are the most useful thing to look for in a contractor, because somebody else has already done the checking. Hertfordshire County Council, St Albans City and District Council, Luton Borough Council, Hertsmere Borough Council, Harpenden Town Council, Hertford Town Council and Harrods Aviation all list us as an approved contractor.

That covers the county as a whole, three district and borough areas, two towns and an aviation operator. We are CSCS accredited and insured with Hiscox for £5m.

Six: Harpenden, St Albans, Watford, North London, Luton and Dunstable, and Radlett. Every other town in Hertfordshire, south Bedfordshire and the North London belt is covered on the same terms – it just does not have a separate page.

The list covers where we work most often, not a boundary. Send a postcode and a couple of photographs on WhatsApp and you will get a straight yes or no, usually the same day.

Yes, the southern end of it. Harpenden is close to the Bedfordshire border, so Luton and Dunstable are among the nearest towns to our base and have their own page.

The minimum charge is £250 wherever you are, and there is no VAT to add. It is the same figure in Harpenden as it is at the edge of the area, because jobs are priced on the work rather than the mileage.
