Luton town centre

Town centre paving takes years of chewing gum, spilled drinks and traffic film, and none of it comes off with cold water and pressure. We cleaned the pedestrianised area in Luton town centre using steam at up to 120 degrees C from Mazzoni boilers, lifting gum and staining without scouring the surface.

Well over 2,000m² was cleaned, working overnight with every area taped off and water drawn from hydrant washout points. The job took around two weeks.

Hertford town centre

The same work, a different town: pavements and hard landscaping in Hertford town centre steam cleaned, with gum and ground-in staining taken out. Public spaces get cleaned around the people using them, so the working method matters as much as the finish – barriers up, hoses tracked away from footfall, area handed back clean and dry enough to walk on.

It was a one-off job, arranged through the local council.
