One company, a lot of surfaces

Pressure washing is the removal of algae, moss, weeds, staining and ingrained dirt from exterior hard surfaces using water, heat and treatment. Herts Pressure Washing has been doing it professionally across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and NW London since 2008.

What changes from job to job is the surface. A block-paved drive wants a rotary cleaner and real pressure. Render wants no pressure at all. Getting that judgement right is most of the work, which is why each service below has its own page rather than a line in a list.

Commercial and council work

Commercial and council work has been part of what we do for years: car parks, town centre paving, warehouse cladding, playgrounds and housing blocks, for councils, schools, property managers and facilities teams. Recent town centre work includes Luton and Hertford.

Seven councils and organisations list us as an approved contractor. We hold an Affinity Water licence to draw from hydrant washout points where a site has no water supply, and COSHH information and RAMS are available on request for any job. Steam up to 120°C from our Mazzoni boilers handles gum, oil and paint.

Two services that cross over

Graffiti removal and brick and stone cleaning are asked for by homeowners and facilities managers in about equal measure, so you’ll find them in both lists. A tagged garden wall and a tagged multi-storey take the same chemistry and the same steam.

Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and NW London

Our fully kitted vans are mobile and the whole county is within reach: St Albans, Watford, Radlett, Harpenden, Luton, Dunstable and the North London belt around Barnet, Totteridge, Hadley Wood, Mill Hill, Edgware and Stanmore. Trading since 2008, CSCS accredited and insured to £5m with Hiscox.

Questions

Questions about our services

Driveway cleaning, patio cleaning, render cleaning, patio repointing and repairs, graffiti and paint removal, brick and stone cleaning and soft washing. On the commercial side we also clean car parks, cladding, playgrounds and town centre paving. We do not clean roofs, gutters or solar panels.

Yes. Pressure washing, power washing, jet washing and pressure cleaning all describe the same trade, and firms use whichever term they grew up with. Any of them can mean cold or heated water – we use heat when the job needs it. Whatever you call it, the result is the same.

We quote a fixed price for the whole job rather than a rate per square metre, because no two jobs are the same: the condition, the access, the chemicals and the water supply all change what it takes. Our minimum charge is £250 and we are not VAT registered, so there is nothing to add on top.

Yes. We are an approved contractor for seven councils and organisations, including Hertfordshire County Council, Luton Borough Council and Harrods Aviation. Commercial work runs through our commercial pressure washing pages, with COSHH information and RAMS available for every site on request.

We’re an owner-run business: Alex, the owner, quotes your job and is on site for every one, working alongside our own staff. There are no franchisees and no subcontracted crews, so if anything isn’t right you speak to the same person. We’ve worked this way since 2008.

No. Quotes are free and carry no obligation. Photos on WhatsApp are the quickest route and usually get a price back the same day; where a job is large, awkward or commercial we will come and look at it first.
